Aquatic Therapy

An excellent intervention for patients with musculoskeletal problems. Water’s natural buoyancy property decreases impact on joints and provides compression while still promoting movement.   Because of this buoyancy, aquatic therapy provides an opportunity to exercise, gain strength, and re-initiate limb and body movement in a comfortable, low-pressure environment.

Chronic Pain

Chronic pain is persistent pain that last for weeks, months or years.  For some, chronic pain is the result of an injury, like a sprained back, or an ongoing problem like arthritis.  For others, chronic pain occurs in the absence of a past injury.

Hand Therapy

A hand, wrist, or shoulder injury can quickly compromise your quality of life whether it’s accident induced, a symptom of overuse, or has been brought on by a disease. Williams Physical Therapy can get to the root of the problem, making adjustments to relieve pain that are well beyond what medicine could do alone.

Manual Physical Therapy

Manual physical therapy is a hands-on technique that is used to decrease pain and improve range-of-motion and flexibility to stiff joints and muscles. Mobilization and manipulation are key components of manual therapy; both techniques restore the power of movement to joints & associated muscles. Patients with a variety of disabilities and orthopaedic conditions may benefit from manual physical therapy. Current research confirms that manual physical therapy combined with therapeutic exercise can produce rapid pain relief and improved function in the following conditions: low-back pain, neck pain, muscle tension headaches, hip and knee osteoarthritis, and shoulder pain.

Orthopedics

Orthopaedics is the medical specialty dedicated to preserving and restoring function in the musculoskeletal system, which includes bones, joints, ligaments, tendons, muscles, and nerves. Orthopaedic physical therapy is used to treat both non-surgical and post-surgical patients with the following conditions: arthritis, muscle weakness and imbalance, spinal and other joint alignment dysfunction, post-operative or inflammatory swelling, post-fractures, joint and muscle pain, and tendonitis and bursitis.

Podiatry Issues

Whether you’re on your feet all day at work, training for an upcoming athletic event, or just relaxing with your family on a Sunday, foot pain can be crippling.

Our therapists provide excellent medical care for a variety of foot and leg issues like bursitis, heel pain, plantar fasciitis, Achilles tendon injuries, bunions, ankle sprains, and athletic injuries. After evaluating your pain, we will work with you to formulate a plan to alleviate your pain, restore function, and reduce the risk of future injuries.

Spine Care

Patients who have acute and chronic low-back and neck pain, muscle tension headaches, pain extending into the arms or legs, general arthritic spine complaints, lumbar spinal stenosis, and work-related spine pain may benefit from physical therapy at Williams  Physical Therapy. In addition, post-surgery physical therapy is critical for successful and faster recovery from operations such as laminectomy and fusion.

Sports Physical Therapy

Sports physical therapy at Williams PT emphasizes the prevention, identification, assessment, minimization, and correction of pain and disability associated with athletic injuries.  The goal of treatment is to maximize participation and performance.

Temporomandibular Pain

Temporomandibular Disorder (TMD) is made up of symptoms that involve the jaw and surrounding facial muscles, teeth, ears, and neck. Treatment will usually consist of a combination of exercise, manipulation, mobilization, stretching, heat, and electric stimulation.

Vestibular Imbalance

Vertigo is the sensation of spinning.  Even when you’re staying still, you may feel as if you’re moving or the room is moving around you.  Causes include inner ear infections or disorders, migraines, tumors, stroke, head injury, and more. Head and neck exercises designed to help the brain “correct” difference between your inner ears, as well as exercises designed to improve balance, can be instrumental to helping eliminate symptoms.

Workplace Injuries

At Williams Physical Therapy, our physical therapists are workplace injury specialists.  We deliver hands-on manual physical therapy to treat back, knee, ankle, and shoulder injuries due to falls, slips, lifting, and twisting.
